About the December 10, 2003 meeting...
IMAX meeting cancelled
Phil Ozek explains...
Dear Fellow SMPTE New England Member-
For the past few months I have personally been involved in organizing a special SMPTE/NE event at a local IMAX venue featuring an in-depth technical discussion by senior IMAX personnel.
I'm sad to report that due to circumstances beyond our control, we will be unable to present the meeting as originally planned.
I'm still determined to present this meeting to our membership and will be working with IMAX personnel over the next couple of months to make it a reality.
While I have your attention I'd like to ask for your support in helping our chapter in a number of ways.
First, if you haven't already done so, please renew your membership. The survival of the SMPTE organization depends on each and every one of us paying our dues in a timely fashion. Also, if you know someone that may be interested in joining SMPTE, point them to SMPTE.ORG where they can download the appropriate membership forms. Thanks!
Second, consider volunteering your time to support your chapter. This can take the form of organizing and presenting a technical meeting to being a candidate to serve as a local SMPTE manager.
Finally, if you have a good idea for a meeting topic that you'd like to see as a future meeting, let us know so we can consider it at one of several SMPTE manager meetings held throughout the year.
In the meantime, on behalf of your elected SMPTE managers I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a safe and joyous holiday season and a happy new year.
See you in January at our annual Digital Video Production Showcase event!
Warm Regards,
Phil Ozek
