Sony Professional Disc: The Next Generation of Workflow Innovation
Plus: A Tour of Emerson College's New State-Of-The-Art Facility!

The professional Optical Disc is a robust new medium that has many uses. In general, it holds high-resolution video, metadata (including low-resolution video), and audio in a randomly accessible format. Dr. Hugo Gaggione, Sony Chief Technology Officer, covered the basics of this new medium, and how workflow can be improved by making full use of its AV/IT capabilities.

We also got guided tours of the very impressive new Emerson College Tufte Performance and Production Center. These brand-new state-of-the-art studios, engineering and performance spaces cost many millions of dollars and it shows. Several station engineers appeared jealous!
