How to join us...
You don't need to be a member to attend our meetings
But we'd love to have you!

Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings. You do not need to be a member and there is no admission charge. Students and the general public are invited to attend. We'll be glad to send email meeting announcements, just contact us at blamm@cync.com.

But if you'd like to join, we'd be honored to have you as a member. Our organization is the New England chapter of the world-wide Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. We cover the six New England states: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont and most of Connecticut except for the New York suburbs. Most of our meetings take place in the Boston area, although we try to cover the entire area. We do not have a set meeting location: Meetings are held at various locations (such as TV stations, production houses or manufacturers' laboratories) to allow attendees to tour them and to facilitate demonstrations and technical presentations.

Membership is only $135/year ($35/year for students) and includes a year's subscription (about 9 issues) to the hard-copy version of our local newsletter as well as 12 issues of SMPTE Journal, the magazine of the mother SMPTE organization.
